i thought i’d love the independence… and i do. BUT, as i lay in bed with the plague today, i can’t help but miss the days when my mama took care of me. when there was ALWAYS someone there 24/7. so, i guess college, in addition to teaching me new things, is helping me appreciate the old.
I thought I understood it, that I could grasp it. But I didn’t. Not really. I only knew the smudgeness of it. The pink slippered, all containered, semi-precious eagerness of it. I didn’t realize that it would sometimes be more than whole… that the wholeness was rather a luxurious idea because it’s the halves that have you in half.
